Fostering e-trade in Senegal
GAINDE 2000 has, thanks to the support of the Investment Climate Facility for Africa (ICF), successfully completed the first phase of the ORBUS Single Window upgrade project that has culminated in the following results:
(a) The improvement of ORBUS processes and the acquisition of new software and hardware;
(b) The rise in the number of users and private and public stakeholders;
(c) The reduction by 20 percent of ORBUS processes, going from 2 days to 7 hours.
Following these results, ICF is now supporting the Phase 2 on “Paperless Trade”. The paperless trade project aims to significantly reduce use of paper in trade formalities, thus saving time and cost. The project area covers all activities related to goods, since transmission of bill until the release of goods at the port. |
